Kachemak Bay Campus Director Carol Swartz has won a Meritorious Service Award from the University of Alaska. In a news release Friday, university officials said that Swartz received the award for her contributions to the literary community and to the public.
Nominations for the award are made annually and reviewed by a committee comprised of UAA faculty, staff and community members. The committee forwards its proposed candidates to UAA Chancellor Tom Case, University of Alaska President Pat Gamble, and the Board of Regents for their review, consideration and approval.
At KBC’s commencement ceremony May 8th, Swartz will be presented the award by Board of Regents’ President Pat Jacobsen and Chancellor Case.
