Four-year-old Jaelynn Thompson was chosen to represent Alaska on the HUB Network program

Move over Kilcher family, there’s a new Homer TV celebrity in town. Four-year-old Jaelynn Thompson was chosen as Alaska’s representative in the HUB Network’s first annual “Holiday Bash,” a reality TV-inspired costume contest – complete with celebrity judges – that aired last weekend.

Jennifer Cabana is Jaelynn’s mom. She says Jaelynn was chosen from more than 50,000 entries into the contest, mostly on the strength of her Alaska-themed Snow Princess costume – and her natural four-year-old cuteness.

Cabana says the HUB Network paid to fly Jaelynn and her to Los Angeles for a four-day stay in a hotel while the show was being filmed. The show itself features emcee Kenan Thompson from Saturday Night Live and a performance by teen pop group Fifth Harmony. Celebrity judges Coco Jones and Martha Stewart got to decide who won the top prize – known as “The Jackie.”

Jaelynn’s star turn on TV is not her first moment in the spotlight. She is an experienced beauty pageant participant, having competed in more than 50 pageants.

Cabana says the Halloween Bash experience was a positive one for Jaelynn, who made some new friends and got to see sunny California for a few days. As for Jaelynn, she says her favorite part of the trip was swimming in the hotel pool.
