Grog Shop Robbed at Gunpoint

Aaron Selbig

A downtown Homer liquor store was robbed at gunpoint late Monday night. Homer Police said in a news release Tuesday that the Grog Shop – a popular wine, beer and liquor store on Pioneer Avenue – was robbed by an unidentified adult male at about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

According to a store employee, the suspect entered the store, picked up some merchandise, then approached the clerk while brandishing a handgun. The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money before the suspect fled on foot to a wooded area behind the store.

The suspect is described as being about six feet tall, with a slim build. He was wearing some type of clothing over his face at the time of the robbery.
