East End Road Reopened After Mudslide

Aaron Selbig

Homer Police say East End Road has been reopened following a mudslide incident earlier this afternoon. Workers from the Alaska Department of Transportation are on site, guiding traffic through one lane in the area near Kachemak Drive. Drivers are urged to exercise caution in the area and watch for flaggers.

East End Road had been closed for several hours today following the mudslide near Bear Creek Drive, and resulting debris in the roadway. DOT workers have been on the scene, attempting to clear the roadway, but there is no estimate right now on how long the work may take.
