Chamber's Car Raffle Extended To Dec. 6th

Aaron Selbig

Facing lower than normal ticket sales, the Homer Chamber of Commerce is extending the deadline for its annual car raffle. Chamber Executive Director Monte Davis says the deadline was originally set for Thursday but has now been pushed back until December 6th.

As of Tuesday, the Chamber had only sold about 300 of 500 total raffle tickets. The winner of the annual raffle will receive $25,000 toward the purchase of a new vehicle at Stanley Ford in Kenai. Davis says the raffle is the primary fundraiser that allows the chamber to stage many other events throughout the year, including the annual Fourth of July parade in downtown Homer.
